Doing more, together
We’ve been learning & creating since 1978.
Managed by a volunteer committee, Mundaring Learning is a vibrant, non-profit organisation providing informal, fun classes for our community.
In fact, we’ve been doing it for over 40 years. From humble beginnings, we’ve grown from a small group to more than 200 members each term.
With a passion for community, craftsmanship, and connection, we love seeing people come together at the Centre. As people learn new skills, we’ve seen lifelong friendships formed through our classes.
To all our members, volunteers, and Class Coordinators, thank you for making Mundaring Learning an amazing place!
1978
Mundaring Learning opened at the original Mundaring School (now demolished) grounds. As membership grew, new premises were found at a house in Jacoby Street, Mundaring.
Ten years after its founding, Mundaring Learning moved to its current home, Craigie House.
1988
1990
A five-year plan was drawn up which included demolishing parts of the facility to make room for new spaces.
After a site overhaul, including countless labour hours from volunteers, the building re-opened in November.
1995
2002
With membership still on the rise, we needed even more space to accommodate growing numbers, and a wet-area was added.
The Centre celebrated 30 years of learning and sharing through many festive events and commemorations.
2008
2009
Disability access opened our doors to even more people in the community. Our kitchen also had a major upgrade.
We’re not done yet! As dynamic classes continue to be introduced, our numbers are still going strong and we look forward to what the future holds for Mundaring Learning. We hope you’ll be a part of that future.
Today
“A wonderful asset to our hills community.
